JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com - The land dispute surrounding the Sultan Hotel in the Gelora Bung Karno (GBK) area of Central Jakarta continues. This raises the question for consumers: is the Sultan Hotel still accepting guests?

According to Kompas.com’s monitoring on the Online Travel Agent (OTA) Traveloka app, the Sultan Hotel is still accepting guests and can be booked. The property is listed as The Sultan Hotel & Residence Jakarta.

There are five types of rooms offered: Deluxe, Grand Deluxe, Junior Suite, Executive, and 3-bedroom Apartment.

The hotel description states that it provides a swimming pool, restaurant, ballroom, and a bathtub in each room.

The price for a stay from Friday (15/05/2026) to Saturday (16/05/2026) starts from IDR 1.1 million per night for the Deluxe room, excluding tax.

The Gelora Bung Karno Complex Management Centre (PPKGBK) will be redeveloping Block 15 of the GBK area, where the Sultan Hotel is located in Central Jakarta.

The Director of PPKGBK, Rakhmadi Afif Kusumo, said that PPKGBK is committed to restoring Block 15 as a green, modern, well-organized, and productive public area, with better integration with transportation access.

In addition, PPKGBK wants to provide optimal benefits for all members of the community, while also recovering the state’s rights to unpaid royalties that have been outstanding for decades.

“We will carry out the eviction process by considering all aspects, including the sustainability of the employees and vendors who have been relying on Block 15,” he said, quoted on Tuesday (12/05/2026).

Furthermore, Rakhmadi said that the state is not there to shut down businesses, but to reorganize this asset so that its benefits can be felt inclusively by the public, as mandated by the constitution.

To that end, PPKGBK has provided a Service Centre for those affected by the eviction of the Sultan Hotel.

The Service Centre is a government commitment to continue embracing all parties affected while also guaranteeing their future under legitimate state management.

He also ensured that the eviction of the Sultan Hotel area will still uphold humanitarian values.

The Central Jakarta District Court (PN Jakpus) has granted the request for the eviction of the Sultan Hotel in Central Jakarta.
