Iran’s Supreme National Security Council (SNSC) has officially issued a statement regarding the end of the armed conflict with the United States (US). In the statement, Tehran claims that Washington has accepted the 10-point requirements submitted by Iran to end the warfare.

The SNSC describes this achievement as a “historic victory” inseparable from the leadership of Ayatollah Mojtaba Khamenei and the sacrifices of the martyrs. Several crucial points in the agreement include US recognition of Iran’s control over the Strait of Hormuz, the right to uranium enrichment, and the lifting of all primary and secondary sanctions.

“The enemy has suffered a crushing defeat in the illegal war against the Iranian nation,” the official statement reads, as quoted by Iran’s semi-official Tasnim news agency on Wednesday (8/4). Additionally, it is mentioned that the US has committed to paying compensation and withdrawing combat troops from the region, including halting confrontations in Lebanon. Nevertheless, the SNSC urges the Iranian people to remain vigilant and maintain unity until all technical details of the agreement are finalised.

Here is the full text released by the SNSC:

The enemy has suffered an undeniable, historic, and crushing defeat in its cowardly, illegal, and criminal war against the Iranian nation. Thanks to the pure and innocent blood of the fallen Leader of the Islamic Revolution as a martyr, Ayatollah Imam Sayid Ali Khamenei (may peace be upon him), the steps of the Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution and Supreme Commander of the Iranian Armed Forces, Ayatollah Sayid Mojtaba Khamenei (may God protect him), the struggle and bravery of the Islamic fighters on various fronts, and especially your historic, eternal, and epic presence, beloved people, in the field of struggle from the first days of the war, Iran has achieved a great victory and forced criminal America to accept its 10-point plan, in which the United States in principle commits to guaranteeing non-aggression, continuing Iran’s control over the Strait of Hormuz, accepting (uranium) enrichment, lifting all primary and secondary sanctions, ending all UN Security Council resolutions and IAEA Board of Governors resolutions, paying compensation to Iran, withdrawing US combat troops from the region, and halting the war on all fronts, including against the heroic Islamic resistance in Lebanon.

We congratulate the entire Iranian people on this victory and emphasise that until the details of this victory are finalised, firmness and caution from officials as well as maintaining unity and solidarity among the Iranian people are still needed.
