A wave of Iranian missile attacks reportedly struck the heart of Tel Aviv and surrounding areas in the early hours of Wednesday, 18 March 2026. Israeli media confirmed at least two deaths and numerous injuries among residents caused by projectile impacts that triggered extensive infrastructure damage and mass panic.

According to field reports, two missiles struck the Ramat Gan area, south of Tel Aviv, resulting in two fatalities. Iran reportedly deployed cluster-type missiles that impacted 15 different locations across the region, spreading destruction over a wide radius, according to Al Mayadeen.

Significant damage was reported at Sedor railway station, whilst a building in central Tel Aviv was reported to have collapsed completely from a direct missile strike. In addition to fatalities, many residents sustained injuries from collapsed building rubble.

The attacks also triggered a large-scale power outage in the city of Hasharon. Loud explosion sounds were reported to have been heard throughout central Tel Aviv and the occupied Al-Quds (Jerusalem) region, indicating the extensive range and devastating blast force of the missiles.

Radar detection indicated that Iran has begun intensifying its use of cluster missiles in this latest wave of attacks. This type of missile is designed to release numerous small sub-munitions over a target, effectively disabling a wide area and short-range air defence systems.

The Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) stated that the attack was part of a series of retaliatory measures against prolonged US and Israeli aggression. Since war broke out in late February, the IRGC has launched dozens of waves of missile and drone attacks in defence of Iranian sovereignty and in response to the killing of its top leaders.

Tehran warned that so long as US-Israeli aggression against Iranian population centres and infrastructure continues, the interests of both countries throughout the entire West Asia region—including in occupied territories—will remain legitimate targets of their military operations.
