Iranian Broadcasting Authority Continues Operations Despite US-Israeli Attack on Building
A US-Israeli attack on 1 March 2026 targeted a building belonging to Channel 2 of the Islamic Republic of Iran Broadcasting (IRIB), Iran’s state broadcasting authority, located on Alvand Street in Tehran.
Despite the assault, IRIB stated that its broadcasts remained on air. The authority confirmed that transmissions from its channels, including Channel 2, continued uninterrupted. No disruptions were reported in overall television transmission.
According to reports by Tasnim News Agency, television broadcasts were operating normally following the attack. Technical teams at the national broadcasting authority were assessing potential damage from the strike.
Coordination with IRIB’s technology development department indicated that only brief technical disruptions occurred. Viewers were advised to rescan their receiving devices to restore access to television channels.
The department stated that television channels experienced no problems or disruptions and continued routine operations. Additionally, no damage was sustained by television studios.
Observers characterised the attack as another “war crime” forming part of the latest wave of unprovoked aggression by the Israeli regime and the United States against Iran.
The aggression has triggered at least eight waves of firm counter-attacks against various enemy targets throughout the region.
The regime previously attacked IRIB’s headquarters in Tehran in June 2025, resulting in the deaths of at least three journalists affiliated with the broadcasting authority.
