Iran Says It Is Ready for Any War Scenario Against the US
The Iranian government says it is ready for any possible war scenario as the conflict with the United States (US) continues. The latest reports say US President Donald Trump has hinted at further strikes, which could take place before America’s midterm elections on 3 November.
“We are ready for every scenario, including the suspension of air and rail services,” Iranian government spokesperson Fatemeh Mohajerani said at a press conference, according to the ISNA news agency and Al-Arabiya on Wednesday (14 October 2026).
Mohajerani added that she could not disclose the government’s emergency measures, saying the country was at war and certain information could not be made public.
“I cannot disclose the measures taken by the government because we are in a state of war,” she stressed.
She added that although some reports amounted to little more than rumours and speculation, the Iranian government had, of course, prepared for the most difficult scenarios.
The spokesperson’s remarks came amid increasingly frequent warnings and threats from Tehran in recent days.
Previously, Iranian Defence Ministry spokesperson Reza Talaei-Nik said that any further attacks by the US and Israel would be met with a “decisive response” and would inflict greater losses on Iran’s adversaries, according to the Fars News Agency.
He said Iran had equipped its armed forces with “more advanced missile and drone technology”, as well as air, naval and land defence systems.
Talaei-Nik also said Iran had increased its production capacity for weapons, defence equipment and ammunition to 2.5 times the level recorded before the war began on 28 February.
“Production of some types of weapons has increased more than threefold,” he said.
He added that more than 1,000 systems, weapons, types of equipment and ammunition were now within the production capacity of the Defence Ministry and its network of partners.
Trump hints at attack on Iran before US midterms
Meanwhile, Trump hinted this week at further military action against Iran. US media reports said Trump and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu had discussed a major attack on Iran before the US midterm elections in November.
“Just wait until you see what we’re going to do to Iran. We’re going to do something big,” Trump told supporters at a campaign event for the Republican Party in Alaska ahead of the midterms, according to Anadolu Agency on Wednesday (14 October).
“We’ve had enough. You know, we’ve had enough,” he said.
Diplomatic efforts between the US and Iran have reached an impasse in recent weeks, with the two countries continuing to disagree, particularly over control of the Strait of Hormuz, a strategic waterway for global oil and gas supplies.
