REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, TEHERAN — Iran has denied any talks with the United States (US), as recently stated by US President Donald Trump. Authorities in Tehran have described President Trump’s statements regarding the postponement of attacks on Iran’s power plants and energy facilities as mere intrigue.

Trump is said to be buying time to normalise the global market following the surge in world oil prices due to strict restrictions in the Strait of Hormuz. Trump had previously claimed that negotiations were proceeding constructively and very well. Iran accuses Trump’s statements of being a new deception to continue attacks on Iran.

“There is no dialogue between Tehran and Washington,” Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi stated to Mehr News Agency, as quoted by RT News, on Monday (23/3/2026).

Iran’s Foreign Ministry stated that Tehran holds a clear position in the war waged by the US alongside its Zionist ally Israel.

“For all the enemy’s demands to reduce tensions, we are in a clear position that we are not the party that started this war. And all these demands must be redirected to Washington,” the Iranian Foreign Ministry stated, as quoted by RT News.

Anadolu Agency also reported statements from authorities in Tehran denying any dialogue with the US. Iran accuses Trump of stalling with his statements to calm market volatility caused by the energy crisis resulting from Zionist-US aggression against Iran.

“Iran states that Trump’s statement is part of efforts to lower energy prices and buy time to continue implementing its military plans,” Anadolu wrote.

Meanwhile, as quoted from Al Jazeera, Tehran has reaffirmed its rejection of all talks with the US and confirmed that there has never been any dialogue regarding the current situation with Donald Trump.

“Iran’s Foreign Ministry denies and states there is no dialogue between Tehran and Washington,” Al Jazeera reported.
