The United States and Israel launched a combined strike on Iranian territory on Saturday morning, Iranian time. The strike was claimed to eliminate threats posed by the Iranian regime.
Separate video statements were released by Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and US President Donald Trump, which also indicated support for efforts at regime change in Tehran.
Iran called the strike a violation of sovereignty. The military promised to retaliate and launch counter-attacks. Iran subsequently launched a retaliatory strike targeting several US military bases in the Middle Eastern region.
A series of explosions shook several Arab Gulf nations hosting US military bases on Saturday (28 February) local time. Reports came from Bahrain, the United Arab Emirates, Qatar, and Kuwait, all confirming a series of explosions following the US-Israeli strike on Iran.
