Iran Attacked by Israel; Indonesian Embassy in Tehran Strengthens Communications with Indonesian Nationals
JAKARTA—Indonesia’s Embassy in Tehran will continue communicating with Indonesian nationals throughout Iran following the combined military attack by Israel and the United States on the country.
Indonesian Ambassador to Iran and Turkmenistan Roy Soemirat stated that this two-way communication is essential for the embassy to provide appropriate assistance and protection services according to the needs of Indonesian nationals in Iran.
“The concentration of the Indonesian Embassy in Tehran at present is to continue conducting two-way communication with all Indonesian nationals in Iran, throughout all cities,” said Roy in a statement released Saturday (28 February 2026), as cited from the Indonesian Government Communications Agency.
As of Saturday afternoon local time, 329 Indonesian nationals have reported themselves and been officially registered with the Indonesian Embassy in Tehran.
Nevertheless, Roy urged Indonesian nationals to heighten their vigilance and take necessary steps to secure themselves and their families.
The embassy is also continuing coordination with the Foreign Ministry in Jakarta regarding developments in the security situation.
“Further updates will be provided periodically through the Foreign Ministry, particularly through the Foreign Ministry spokesperson,” he concluded.
Previously, the Indonesian Embassy in Tehran had issued a circular letter to Indonesian nationals regarding developments in Iran’s security conditions. Indonesian nationals were also urged to comply with regulations and directions from local security authorities.
