Iran and China 'Unite' to Attack European Nations, Severe Consequences Ensue
The conflict continuing in the Middle East has escalated further. The conflict began with a combined attack by the United States and Israel on Iran on 28 February 2026.
The attack resulted in the death of Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, along with several other senior officials. In response, Iran retaliated by attacking US military bases throughout the Middle East.
Iran also closed the Strait of Hormuz, a significant global trade route, particularly for oil. This has caused oil prices to rise, with repercussions across other sectors.
Amid the physical warfare occurring in the Middle East, the European Union (EU) suddenly announced that nations within its region had come under cyber attacks from China and Iran.
The European Union has formally imposed sanctions against three companies based in China and Iran in connection with cyber attacks against its member states.
In its official statement, the EU placed two Chinese companies, Integrity Technology Group and Anxun Information Technology, as well as the Iranian company Emennet Pasargad, on its blacklist.
The EU revealed that Integrity Technology Group is suspected of being involved in hacking more than 65,000 devices spread across six member states, according to Reuters on Tuesday (17 March 2026).
Meanwhile, Anxun Information Technology is said to have provided hacking services targeting vital infrastructure. The two founders of that company have also been subjected to individual sanctions.
Additionally, the Iranian company Emennet Pasargad is accused of involvement in spreading disinformation by hacking billboards during the 2024 Paris Olympics.
As punishment, the EU has imposed sanctions in the form of asset freezes and travel bans for individuals involved.
Furthermore, all citizens and companies in the European Union region are prohibited from providing financial support to entities on the sanctions list.
