Investment Literacy Increases as Financial Education Programmes Drive Asset Diversification
Rising gold prices in recent weeks have reignited public interest in investment, particularly in instruments considered relatively secure or safe-haven assets. However, financial experts assess that investment effectiveness depends not solely on a single instrument type.
Healthy financial planning still requires a comprehensive asset management strategy, including investment diversification to reduce risk whilst maximising potential asset value growth. Recognising this trend, Cermati Fintech Group through its Cermati Invest service has relaunched a financial education programme titled Cermatalks. In this iteration, the programme partners with PT Supra Boga Lestari Tbk, known as the operator of the premium supermarket chain Ranch Market.
Through a discussion session themed “Smart Money: Manage Better, Grow Faster”, participants are guided to understand how to manage finances more effectively whilst utilising various investment instruments for long-term objectives.
Cermati Invest Director Darwin Soesanto has emphasised the importance of improving financial literacy so the public can make investment decisions more wisely.
“Through the Cermatalks programme, our focus is to equip participants with an understanding of how to manage finances better so that their assets can grow faster and more optimally,” Darwin stated.
He added that financial education is expected to help the public understand how to select financial products aligned with their future objectives.
In the discussion session, participants gained understanding about the importance of building a financial strategy with layers of asset protection. Beyond investment in instruments such as shares and mutual funds, the discussion also covered risk management through deposit savings and the use of digital technology for practical gold investment.
This approach helps participants understand the appropriate time to conduct asset diversification so that their wealth remains productive whilst protected from inflation risk.
The financial education activity received positive responses from participants. One was expressed by Ranch Market employee Ramos Mangihut, who valued the programme for providing new insights into personal financial management.
“Cermatalks truly opened my perspective on managing finances in a healthier and more appropriate way. We now better understand how to manage personal cash flow and have begun to consider investments according to our risk profile,” he said.
The Cermatalks programme itself forms part of Cermati Fintech Group’s ongoing commitment to expand public access to inclusive financial services.
Meanwhile, the Cermati Invest investment service is managed by PT Artha Investa Teknologi, which provides investment services with support from professional investment managers. The company has also obtained a licence as a Mutual Fund Securities Sales Agent (APERD) from the Financial Services Authority.
On another note, PT Supra Boga Lestari Tbk is a modern retail company operating the Ranch Market and Farmers Market premium supermarket chains. The company, established in 1997, is now part of the digital retail ecosystem of PT Global Digital Niaga Tbk, which is affiliated with the Djarum Group.
Through financial education collaborations such as Cermatalks, the public is expected to increasingly understand the importance of long-term financial planning whilst being able to utilise various investment instruments optimally.
