Internet Reaches 110 Mbps, Komdigi on 24-Hour Alert to Safeguard Return Traffic of Holidaymakers
JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com - The Ministry of Communication and Digital (Komdigi) has ensured that telecommunications services remain stable during the return flow of the 2026 Eid al-Fitr holidays, amid the movement of around 10,000 passengers at Semarang Tawang Station. Deputy Minister of Communication and Digital Nezar Patria stated that the network is monitored without disruptions, with speeds up to 110 Mbps and full 24-hour supervision. “To anticipate potential disruptions during the peak return flow, Komdigi has deployed monitoring teams for 24 hours who are tasked with detecting disturbances early and carrying out rapid handling on the ground,” said Nezar in a press statement on Friday (27/3/2026). Komdigi has also ensured coordination with mobile operators and all stakeholders to keep services optimal until the peak return flow has passed. “We are ready to support the return flow for the next one to two days so that the public remains connected smoothly when returning to activities,” Nezar added. Nezar revealed that Semarang Tawang Station is one of the main nodes for holidaymaker movement. “At Semarang Tawang Station, we have set up a post to monitor services and the quality provided by mobile operators as well as the existing telecommunications network,” he said. Data speeds are in the range of 70 to 110 Mbps, sufficient to support the public’s real-time communication needs. “The upload and download speeds we monitor reach above the average of 70 to 110 Mbps. This is in very good condition to support public activities,” said Nezar. These figures are expected to recur during the return flow, with the peak movement on 28 to 29 March 2026.
