Insurance Industry Projected to Grow Up to 7 Percent in 2026, Qoala Plus Strengthens Partners

The insurance industry participants view 2026 as a period with growth opportunities. The sector is projected to grow by around 5 to 7 percent, in line with optimism for the performance of the financial sector and the drive of various policies related to consumer protection. Against this dynamic, insurtech Qoala Plus has launched the Qonnect+ 2026 programme with the theme Be a Super Agent. The programme was held in person in five cities: Bandung, Surabaya, Semarang, Medan, and Jakarta. Through these activities, the company seeks to provide partners with an understanding of the general insurance industry conditions and developing business opportunities. Head of Business Qoala Plus Tirto Utomo, said the insurance industry in the past year faced a number of challenges, from regulatory changes to market dynamics that affect customer expectations. “Through Qonnect+, we are committed to equipping partners to be more prepared to face the economic dynamics and changes in compliance within the insurance industry in 2026,” he said. He added that the programme is also used to introduce several features in the Qoala Plus app that have been developed during 2025, as well as plans for further development in 2026. “We hope Qoala Plus partners can maximise the economic opportunities from distributing insurance production, supported by Qoala Plus’s services and technology,” he said. For motor vehicle insurance products, the company has introduced several features covering policy issuance to claims submission. These features are expected to help partners manage administrative processes and service to customers. Meanwhile, in the employee health insurance segment, the company notes that the use of artificial intelligence (AI) will be one of the focus areas for feature development in 2026.
