JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com — The Indonesian National Shipowners’ Association (INSA) is actively participating in the Asia Pacific Maritime (APM) 2026 event held at Marina Bay Sands, Singapore.

In this maritime forum themed “Future of Vessels: Solutions for Tomorrow”, taking place in Singapore from 25–27 March 2026, INSA is seizing the opportunity to capture the direction of transformation in the shipping industry while opening up collaboration prospects with global industry players.

“Events like this are important not only for building networks but also for enhancing insights and seeking opportunities that can strengthen the competitiveness of the national maritime industry on the global stage,” said Carmelita in an official statement on Friday (27/3/2026).

She added that INSA is also using this platform to offer collaborations with global maritime industry players, particularly in organising the Indonesia Maritime Week (IMW) 2027.

“On this occasion, INSA is also offering cooperation to regional and global industry players in organising the Indonesia Maritime Week, which is planned to be held in 2027 in Indonesia,” Carmelita stated.

“Building on the success of IMW 2025, this event is expected to serve as a space for exchanging ideas and business opportunities for the development of the national, regional, and global maritime sectors,” she said.

APM 2026 is attended by more than 20,000 participants from various countries, making it one of the largest maritime forums in the Asia Pacific region.

The INSA delegation, led directly by Carmelita, is present with around 60 participants comprising executives and national shipping business players.

The INSA pavilion itself is utilised as a space for interaction with various stakeholders, both domestic and international.

Several key figures visited the INSA pavilion, including the Indonesian Ambassador to Singapore Hotmangaradja Pandjaitan and the CEO of the Maritime and Port Authority (MPA) of Singapore, Ang Wee Keong.

In addition, representatives from regional shipping associations such as FASA, SSA, MASA, and ASA were present to exchange views on the dynamics of the global shipping industry while strengthening inter-country collaboration.

INSA’s involvement is further evident in panel discussion sessions, where Ghanny Zeng, Chairman of the INSA DPP Decarbonisation Working Group, appeared as a panellist on the topic “What Will Unlock Capital for Shipowners in 2026?”, discussing future challenges and opportunities in shipping sector financing.
