InJourney Stations 37 Airports for Round-the-Clock Operations to Serve 9 Million Eid Travellers in 2026
PT Aviasi Pariwisata Indonesia (Persero), or InJourney, through PT Angkasa Pura Indonesia, is ensuring operational readiness and service delivery at 37 airports throughout the Eid travel period in 2026. All airports will operate on a 24-hour basis to accommodate the surge in traveller movements beginning 13 March through 30 March 2026.
During this period, the number of airline passengers is projected to reach 9.03 million people, representing approximately a 2 per cent increase compared to the previous year. Aircraft movements are estimated to rise 3.24 per cent to 63,553 flights.
InJourney Chief Executive Maya Watono stated that the Eid period represents the highest traffic volume across all business divisions of the company, particularly from the domestic market.
“We are witnessing very positive movement, particularly from the domestic market, which is our main focus this year. Our expectation is that this momentum will proceed smoothly whilst driving performance growth across our entire ecosystem,” Maya said.
She added that as a holding company managing airports, hotels, retail, and destinations, InJourney prioritises customer experience as its primary objective. Measures being implemented include 24-hour airport operations, additional personnel deployment, and strengthened services at various travel checkpoints.
InJourney Airports Chief Executive Mohammad R. Pahlevi identified five airports expected to experience the heaviest traffic during the Eid period: Soekarno-Hatta Airport, I Gusti Ngurah Rai Airport, Juanda Airport, Sultan Hasanuddin Airport, and Kualanamu Airport.
Specifically, Soekarno-Hatta Airport is projected to serve 3.01 million passengers, whilst Ngurah Rai Airport is expected to accommodate approximately 1.13 million passengers.
“The Eid transport period represents the busiest season throughout the year. We are ensuring the availability of air transport capacity by maintaining 24-hour airport operations and accommodating additional flights,” Pahlevi stated.
To maintain smooth operations, all airports will activate Unified Data Monitoring Command Posts for 18 days. These posts function to strengthen coordination among all stakeholders and serve as the basis for rapid decision-making in the field.
Beyond operational aspects, InJourney Airports is also introducing various service programmes to enhance passenger comfort during the travel period.
InJourney Airports Deputy Chief Executive Achmad Syahir stated that various activations have been prepared to create a Ramadan atmosphere at the airports, ranging from iftar meal distributions and live music performances to thematic decorations.
“Airports are not merely transit points; they are part of the travel experience. We wish to create a warm Ramadan atmosphere that passengers can experience from the moment they arrive at the airport,” Achmad said.
At Soekarno-Hatta Airport, for example, a large dome installation featuring Indonesian motifs and Middle Eastern architectural touches has been prepared at Terminal 3. Meanwhile, at Ngurah Rai Airport, Ramadan ornaments complement the iconic Bali signage as focal points for passengers.
