PT Angkasa Pura Indonesia (InJourney Airports) recorded 4.41 million passenger movements at its 37 airports during the period from 13 to 21 March 2026 (H-7 to H+1). This figure represents a 3.7% increase compared to the same period last year, which saw 4.25 million passengers.

InJourney Airports’ President Director, Mohammad Rizal Pahlevi, stated that the highest number of passengers occurred during the peak of the homecoming rush on 18 March 2026 (H-2), reaching 568,964 passengers. “Meanwhile, on Eid al-Fitr Day, 21 March 2026, the number of passengers was recorded at 397,670,” Rizal said on Monday, 23 March 2026.

Rizal noted that there was also an increase in aircraft movements. From 13 to 21 March 2026, there were 33,099 flights, a 6% rise from the previous 31,240 flights.

“This increase in passenger and flight numbers was well-managed by all airports,” he said.

He assured that the homecoming flow proceeded smoothly. Operational aspects and services during the homecoming period were generally maintained. Rizal attributed this to meticulous operational planning, support from all parties, and collaboration among airport stakeholders.

“One form of collaboration is that airports can optimise slot times or the availability of take-off and landing times to accommodate public air travel demand during the Lebaran peak season,” Rizal explained.

According to Rizal, slot time optimisation was supported by high realisation of additional flight operations (extra flights).

Throughout 13 to 21 March 2026, InJourney Airports received around 2,500 extra flight requests from airlines. Of the total requests, approximately 2,000 extra flights were realised, or 80% of the requests.

This figure is quite high, as generally, extra flights realised by airlines range from 60% to 70% of requests.

“This demonstrates growing demand during Lebaran transport, as well as good collaboration among all airport stakeholders,” Rizal said.

InJourney Airports recorded the five busiest airports during this homecoming period as Soekarno-Hatta in Tangerang (1.51 million passengers), I Gusti Ngurah Rai in Bali (523,944 passengers), Juanda in Surabaya (378,056 passengers), Sultan Hasanuddin in Makassar (283,099 passengers), and Kualanamu in Deli Serdang (207,661 passengers).
