PT Hotel Indonesia Natour (InJourney Hospitality) is targeting a 10 per cent increase in hotel occupancy rates during the peak holiday period for Lebaran and Nyepi in 2026.

The occupancy surge is projected to occur from 17 to 29 March 2026, coinciding with heightened public mobility for homecoming travel, tourism, and taking advantage of extended holidays.

Veronica H Sisilia, Commercial Director of InJourney Hospitality, stated that the Lebaran and Nyepi holiday period serves as an important driver of growth for Indonesia’s national tourism sector. The company is offering integrated travel experiences to tourists through the InJourney ecosystem, encompassing services from airports, hotels, to tourist destinations.

“The Lebaran and Nyepi holiday period this year represents an important catalyst to stimulate public interest in tourism,” Veronica said in a written statement.

The government has called for work-from-anywhere (WFA) arrangements for civil servants and private sector employees on 16-17 March 2026 and 25-27 March 2026. This policy is expected to help ease congestion during Lebaran homecoming and return travel periods.

“This policy simultaneously encourages the public to enjoy longer holiday periods, which will certainly have positive impacts for the national hotel and tourism industries,” she added.

InJourney Hospitality’s projections show increased occupancy across all hotel categories managed by the company. Hotels in the Bali cluster are estimated to record the highest occupancy rate of approximately 64 per cent, whilst the Java cluster is projected to reach around 53 per cent. The Sumatera cluster is estimated at around 45 per cent, as are the Kalimantan and Sulawesi clusters.

Properties with the highest occupancy rates include Merusaka Nusa Dua, The Meru Sanur, and Bali Beach Hotel The Heritage Collection.

Four-star hotels are projected to record the highest occupancy increase of approximately 14 per cent. Several properties with high occupancy rates in this category include Truntum Kuta, Grand Inna Tunjungan, and The Manohara Hotel Yogyakarta.

Three-star hotels are estimated to record an occupancy increase of approximately 9 per cent.
