InJourney Airports Ensures Readiness of 37 Airports for Eid Holiday Period
PT Aviasi Pariwisata Indonesia (Persero), or InJourney, alongside PT Angkasa Pura Indonesia, or InJourney Airports, is ensuring operational readiness and service delivery across 37 airports during the 2026 Eid holiday travel period from 13 March to 30 March 2026.
All airports managed by InJourney Airports, as part of the InJourney Group, will welcome returning travellers during the Eid holiday transport period. The company’s Chief Executive Officer, Maya Watono, stated that the Eid holiday represents the highest traffic period across InJourney’s entire business operations.
“We are seeing very positive momentum, particularly from the domestic market which is our main focus this year. We hope this period will run smoothly whilst driving performance growth across our entire ecosystem,” Maya said in a written statement.
Maya emphasised that as a multi-sector holding company managing airports, retail, hotels, and destinations, InJourney prioritises customer experience at every service touchpoint. “We ensure optimal operations through 24-hour airport operations, additional personnel during peak holiday periods, and enhanced services at hotels and destinations with supporting staff,” she explained.
“At the same time, we are introducing various activation programmes and attractive offers, including discounts across all InJourney assets, to provide added value to the public. With this comprehensive preparation, we are committed to delivering safe, comfortable, integrated, and memorable travel experiences,” she added.
InJourney Airports’ Chief Executive Officer Mohammad R. Pahlevi projected that cumulative passenger movements across all InJourney Airports during the 2026 Eid holiday transport period would reach 9.03 million passengers, representing approximately a 2% increase compared to the 2025 Eid holiday period. Aircraft movements are expected to rise by 3.24% to 63,553 flights from the previous 61,556 flights.
At Indonesia’s two busiest airports, Soekarno-Hatta Airport in Tangerang is projected to handle 3.01 million passengers, whilst Ngurah Rai Airport in Bali is expected to accommodate 1.13 million passengers.
“The Eid holiday period is the busiest time of the year. Therefore, InJourney Airports, together with stakeholders, is working to ensure air transport capacity is available for returning travellers by maintaining 24-hour airport operations aligned with airline requirements, including accommodating additional flights,” Pahlevi explained.
The five busiest airports during the 2026 Eid holiday period will be Soekarno-Hatta in Tangerang, Ngurah Rai in Bali, Juanda in Surabaya, Sultan Hasanuddin in Makassar, and Kualanamu in Deli Serdang.
To ensure smooth operations and service delivery during this peak season, all InJourney Airports will activate Integrated Monitoring Command Posts from 13-30 March 2026. “The posts will be activated for 18 days to increase vigilance and facilitate coordination among airport stakeholders. These posts will process data and reports to inform policy decisions, ensure smooth airport operations and services, and maintain flight punctuality,” Pahlevi stated.
InJourney Airports is committed to delivering a safe, secure, and comfortable Eid holiday transport experience through collaboration with various stakeholders, emphasising joint efforts to maintain safety standards.
To enhance the experience during this peak season, InJourney Airports airports are preparing activation programmes for passengers and airport visitors. Planned activities include traditional Ramadan drum parades, Ramadan-themed live music, distribution of breaking-fast food, Eid gift hampers, and light refreshments to respond to any flight delays or baggage handling issues.
InJourney Airports’ Deputy Chief Executive Officer Achmad Syahir stated that airports are ready to welcome returning travellers and provide memorable experiences to complement their homecoming journeys. “In addition to activation programmes, InJourney Airports is preparing thematic designs to bring the warmth of Ramadan ambiance to airports. We hope this year’s holiday travel will be more memorable,” Syahir said.
Soekarno-Hatta Airport will feature a focal point in Terminal 3 consisting of a 9 x 9 metre dome installation spanning an area of 12 x 21 metres, blending Indonesian heritage through batik motifs with the beauty of Middle Eastern architecture. The area will include live plants, an activation stage, and lantern decorations creating a peaceful atmosphere.
“Meanwhile, Bali’s Ngurah Rai Airport will complement its iconic”Bali” sign with Ramadan-themed ornaments. Other airports will also present unique and distinctive thematic designs,” he noted.
Peak outbound travel is projected to occur on 18 March 2026, with return travel expected to peak on 28 March 2026.
