Indosat launches social programmes and connectivity enhancements for Ramadan
Jakarta (ANTARA) - Indosat Ooredoo Hutchison has launched an initiative entitled #LebihBaikIndosat to welcome Ramadan and Eid al-Fitr 2026, focusing on network strengthening, artificial intelligence (AI) utilisation, and social programmes across various regions.
SVP Head of Corporate Communications at Indosat, Ovidia Namia, said the initiative was designed to deliver an experience that is closer, more relevant, and more meaningful for customers.
“This is actually a long-term commitment, not just for Ramadan after which we disappear. We want to continuously evolve to showcase the best of Indonesia so that all our consumers feel happy being Indosat users,” said Ovidia in Jakarta on Friday.
During Ramadan, Indosat is presenting four programmes as part of the #LebihBaikIndosat initiative.
First, Indosat is strengthening and optimising its network across 77 mudik (homecoming) routes and 797 strategic Points of Interest throughout Indonesia. Monitoring is conducted 24 hours a day to ensure customers remain connected without disruption, both in major cities and mudik destinations.
Second, Indosat is introducing the Sahabat AI application. Built with artificial intelligence technology and supported by NVIDIA, the app is designed to understand Indonesian language and local context. Sahabat AI can help users find information, develop ideas, and address various daily needs in a simple and natural manner.
Third, Indosat is also strengthening digital protection through AI-based anti-spam and anti-scam features. Since its launch in August 2025, this feature has detected and blocked more than 2 billion calls, messages, and malicious links identified as spam and fraud, preventing risks before they impact customers. The system continuously learns from evolving threat patterns, ensuring its protection remains relevant to real-world conditions. The feature has also helped prevent potential financial losses of up to US$500 million, reaching more than 95 per cent of customers.
Fourth, Indosat is running the “Indosat Berkah Ramadan Surau Kita Berdaya” programme, implemented at 19 locations across various regions of Indonesia, including disaster-affected areas in Aceh. Through this programme, Indosat is revitalising and strengthening the function of surau and musholla (prayer halls) as centres for worship and community activities. The programme also seeks to revive the role of surau as spaces for community empowerment and social cohesion through collaboration with partners and local communities to ensure its impact is genuinely felt.
