Indorama sets up int'l school

JAKARTA: India's ambassador to Indonesia Sudhir T. Devare on
Wednesday laid the foundation stone to launch the construction of
a day-cum-residential international school in Purwakarta, West
Java.

The school, which is expected to start up in August 1996, is
being set up by the Rama International School Foundation, through
the initiative of PT Indorama Synthetics. The 45,000 square
campus is located in the company's complex.

In a statement, the school said it expects to enroll 280
students when it opens next year. It is targeting children of
expatriates working or residing in Purwakarta, Karawang, Bekasi,
Subang and Cirebon.

Classes will be taught in English with curricula in line with
university entrance requirements of India, the United Kingdom,
the United States and Australia.
