Indonesia's Strategic Position Amid the Indo-Pacific Energy Architecture
Amid increasingly uncertain global dynamics, time has become a crucial factor. Delaying action could mean losing momentum.
Jakarta (ANTARA) - In recent years, discussions on energy security in the Indo-Pacific region have intensified. This is not without reason.
Geopolitical conflicts, supply chain disruptions, and climate change have transformed energy from merely an economic matter into one intertwined with sovereignty issues. Countries unable to secure their energy supplies will be more vulnerable to shocks, both economically and politically.
High dependence on external supplies can quickly become a strategic weakness. This is where the Indo-Pacific region’s position becomes increasingly important. As one of the world’s economic growth centres, this area is experiencing a very rapid surge in energy needs.
However, this increase in demand is not always matched by guarantees of stable and secure supplies, making energy security issues even more crucial and inseparable from regional dynamics.
