Indonesia's Foreign Ministry: Deployment of TNI Troops to Gaza Postponed
Jakarta — Indonesia’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs (Kemlu) has once again stressed that all discussions related to the Board of Peace (BoP) have been suspended. The deployment of Indonesian peacekeeping troops to Gaza, Palestine, has also been postponed.
“We wish to convey that the deployment of Indonesian peacekeeping forces to Gaza is currently postponed, and all discussions related to the Board of Peace remain on hold,” stated Indonesian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Nabyl A. Mulachela in Jakarta on Tuesday, 17 March 2026.
The ministry made this statement in response to inquiries regarding reports of an international force deployment to the Gaza Strip, which was reported to commence in May. The ministry spokesperson reiterated that any possibility of Indonesian participation in the International Stabilisation Force (ISF) remains entirely under Indonesian national control and is grounded in the UN Security Council mandate.
“Indonesia’s participation in the International Stabilisation Force (ISF) is entirely under Indonesian national control and is based on UN Security Council Resolution 2803 (2025), as well as aligned with Indonesia’s independent and active foreign policy, the national interests of the Republic of Indonesia, and international law,” said Nabyl.
