JAKARTA - PT Toyota Motor Manufacturing Indonesia (TMMIN) has explained that the slowdown in national exports of four-wheeled or more vehicles, which dropped by up to 20% in March 2026, was not due to the impact of the war between Iran and Israel and the United States. Instead, the situation was genuinely caused by a reduction in working hours due to the Lebaran holiday in 2026. “Imagine that the working days last month were only about two weeks. Naturally, production and distribution activities slowed temporarily, while overseas operations continued as usual,” said TMMIN’s Vice President Director, Bob Azam, in Jakarta on Tuesday (14/4/2026). It is known that, based on data from the Indonesian Automotive Industry Association (Gaikindo), the total exports of locally made completely built-up (CBU) vehicles in March 2026 were recorded at 36,867 units. This figure is 20% lower than the February 2026 achievement of 46,585 units. On an annual basis, the realisation also slowed by 7.5%. Meanwhile, exports of completely knocked-down (CKD) vehicles reached 5,038 set units, or a 36.2% decline compared to February 2026’s 7,898 set units.
