Indonesians win trip to South Korea
JAKARTA: Four Indonesian high school and university students will get the chance to visit various places in South Korea after they were declared on Tuesday as winners of a writing contest on South Korea.
The writing contest, the eighth edition, was organized by the South Korean Embassy and the National Education Ministry with 1,431 entries from all over Indonesia to improve Indonesia's understanding of South Korea.
The South Korean ambassador in Jakarta Yun Hai-jun and the ministry's director general for elementary education Indra Djati Sidi were present at the awards ceremony.
In the high school category, Sofi Sofiatin of Cianjur, West Java won and Rahmawati Rahman of Tenggarong, East Kalimantan was the runner-up.
Nur Rakhman Sasmita of Brawijaya University in Malang, East Java and Imam Risdiyanto of Gadjah Mada University in Yogyakarta were named the winner and runner-up in the university category respectively.
The winners and an official from the ministry are set to leave for South Korea on Tuesday evening and return on Dec. 15.
Each winner also got prize money of Rp 1 million (US$117) while the runners-up got Rp 500,000 each. -- JP
