Indonesians, unite!
Indonesians, unite!
From Suara Karya
The situation in our country is cause for great concern. The
country is on the brink of collapse as it is mired in poverty,
unemployment and massive debts.
Worse still, Indonesians are involved in meaningless debates
as each group tries to reach their own goals. Conflicts in Aceh,
Ambon, Papua are some examples. Even East Timor, formerly one of
Indonesia's provinces, is now an independent state.
Unless we collectively realize that it is necessary to unite
once again, the country is sure to disintegrate.
Therefore, we, the Movement of Indonesian Sons and Daughters
(GPPI), an association bringing together youngsters from
different regions across the country, warmly welcome the
establishment of the Forum for Indonesians by Suryo Susilo, which
is aimed at settling past conflicts whose ramifications are still
being felt today.
It is our hope that this forum can be promoted in the regions
so that everyone across the country can again be imbued with the
spirit of national unity.
