Jakarta — The Indonesian Red Cross (PMI) South Jakarta has opened a free health service post for fire survivors on Jalan Bintaro Permai, RW 09, Bintaro Village, Pesanggrahan District.

“We have assigned our Health Services and Medical Sections to inventory the priority needs of residents,” stated PMI South Jakarta Chair Mundari in Jakarta on Monday.

According to Mundari, the health post has been activated with medical volunteers to ensure that evacuation survivors’ health conditions remain monitored and receive necessary treatment. Medical volunteers and other personnel are not only stationed at the health post but also visit evacuation sites directly to provide health services to fire survivors.

“PMI’s presence at the location is part of our role as a government partner in providing humanitarian services to the community,” Mundari said.

Beyond health services, PMI South Jakarta has distributed humanitarian assistance to affected residents, comprising 40 food packages, 32 basic necessities packages, two cartons of baby nappies, 10 boxes of infant formula, mineral water, and several jerrycans of floor cleaning solution to maintain environmental hygiene at evacuation sites.

Mundari expressed hope that PMI volunteers’ presence would help alleviate the burden on affected residents and provide support to survivors to recover following the disaster.

“We will continue monitoring the location until the emergency response period is declared complete. We will also continue coordinating with local administration and government officials,” he stated.

Meanwhile, Head of the South Jakarta Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD) Task Force Sukendar reported that in response to the fire affecting approximately 200 people, BPBD has established a main command post and evacuation tents near the incident location. Some residents are currently sheltering at Bintaro State Elementary Schools 01 and 02, with all evacuees continuously monitored by relevant agencies to ensure their basic needs are met.
