Indonesian Police Arrest International Fugitive in Cambodia Online Scam Network Case
A joint Polri team has arrested an Indonesian citizen with the initials LCS, who is on Interpol’s international wanted list or red notice. Director of Cyber Crime at Bareskrim Polri, Brigadier General Himawan Bayu Aji, stated that LCS was captured at Soekarno-Hatta International Airport in Tangerang on Sunday (3/5/2026). “The arrest of the suspect LCS is the result of cross-country cooperation and coordination, as well as a demonstration of our seriousness in addressing cybercrime perpetrators, particularly online scams that harm the wider public,” Himawan said in his statement, quoted on Tuesday (5/5/2026). LCS has also been designated as a suspect in a cross-border online scam case involving an international network in Cambodia. “This case has at least 23 Police Reports (LP) from various regions in Indonesia,” he added. All reports are now being handled centrally by the Dittipidsiber Bareskrim Polri to facilitate investigation and case filing. Based on the investigation results, LCS is suspected of acting as an operator running the online scam through a platform called “abbishopee.” Polri stated that it will continue to develop this case to uncover a broader network, including tracing the flow of funds from the crimes to restore victims’ losses. “We will continue to pursue developments to uncover the involved international network, as well as trace the flow of criminal proceeds for the recovery of victims’ losses,” he continued. Currently, LCS has been secured and is undergoing further examination at Bareskrim Polri.
