Indonesian National Police Chief Calls on Workers to Unite to Realise Indonesia's Golden 2045
Jakarta – The Indonesian National Police Chief, General Listyo Sigit Prabowo, urged workers to unite and strengthen solidarity with the government in order to realise Indonesia’s Golden 2045. Quoted from official statements, at the Ramadan gathering with the Confederation of All Indonesian Workers’ Unions (KSPSI) in Bekasi, West Java, on Friday, he said that the dynamics and escalation of global situations at present have the potential to directly impact domestic economic and social conditions. Therefore, he said, the synergy between the government and workers is crucial for Indonesia to be able to face the challenges ahead. “We must be solid and work together to face the current situation,” he said. A KSPSI Advisory Council member said that the government has various strategic programmes aimed at strengthening the national economy, including policies for the downstreaming of natural resources. He said that with more optimal management of natural resources domestically, Indonesia has the potential to increase the economy’s added value while expanding job opportunities. He also stressed the importance of improving the quality of human resources (HR) so that Indonesians can compete globally. The Police, he said, opens opportunities for cooperation in improving the competencies of the workforce through the police’s education and training facilities. The training programmes are expected to serve as a vehicle for knowledge transfer to Indonesian workers, particularly in facing investments by domestic and foreign companies. “With training and improved competencies, our human resources will be increasingly prepared and professional to compete with other countries,” he said. With collaboration between the government, the business world, and workers, the vision of Indonesia’s Golden 2045 can be realised. “Going forward, we must prepare everything together so that Indonesia can truly realise the big dream towards Indonesia’s Golden 2045,” he said.
