Jakarta — The Indonesian National Police headquarters, working in tandem with numerous journalists, distributed 1,500 takjil (breaking fast meals) to members of the public passing by the main police building in South Jakarta on Tuesday.

Brigadier General Trunoyudo Wisnu Andiko, head of public relations for the police’s public information division, stated that the initiative represented an annual programme conducted each year. “The National Police, together with all our friends in the media and journalists at the police headquarters, are working in synergy and collaboration to provide blessings and contribute to the spiritual significance of the month of Ramadan,” he said.

During this distribution of breakfasts, breaking fast meals were given to members of the public and drivers, who responded enthusiastically to the gesture.

Trunoyudo expressed his hope that this activity would foster sustained synergy and collaboration between the media, journalists, and the National Police, particularly among media outlets tasked with covering the police headquarters.

He also noted that the country is entering the peak period of the Ramadan exodus (mudik) for 2026, and appealed to those travelling during this time to notify local authorities about their homes.

“The neighbourhood you are leaving should be properly registered with neighbourhood leaders, whether that be the RT or RW heads, community figures still residing there, or local security units, and especially with the National Police through community policing officers,” he stated.

In addition, he invited members of the public to leave their vehicles at the nearest police station if needed. He also urged citizens to continue following news from accredited and verified media outlets.

“Safety is the most important aspect of travelling during the exodus—reaching your destination, not speed,” he concluded.
