An Indonesian migrant worker (PMI) from West Nusa Tenggara (NTB) who shared a video recording the alarming moment when Iranian missiles struck a United States military base in Bahrain has been identified as Dedi Putrawan from Bilekedit Barat Hamlet, Babussalam Village, Gerung District, West Lombok.

The head of Bilekedit Barat Hamlet, Syahid Mursal (known as Said), confirmed that the worker is indeed from the area. He discovered this when viewing the video uploaded by Dedi’s wife, Rosita Rohimatullah, from her Facebook account @Rosita Rohimatullah. Rosita is currently based in Abu Dhabi.

“It is true. This PMI is named Dedi Putrawan. He happened to have recently departed for Bahrain,” said Said when met at his home on Sunday evening (1/3/2026).

According to Said, Dedi departed for Bahrain approximately three months ago through a recruitment company in Jakarta. The father of two is not in close proximity to the location of the Iranian missile strikes on the US base in Bahrain.

“We are not entirely certain of Dedi’s exact location; he merely mentioned that he works at a restaurant there. The family has already communicated with him, and his condition remains safe,” explained Said.

On behalf of Dedi’s family, Said expressed hope that the Indonesian Government or the Indonesian Embassy in Manama, Bahrain, would provide assurance regarding the safety of Indonesian migrant workers employed in the country.

“We can only pray that our citizens do not become victims there. We can only pray that he remains safe,” said Said.

The video showing the harrowing moment of Iranian missiles striking the US military base in Bahrain was uploaded through Rosita’s Facebook account and has gone viral on social media, attracting numerous comments from internet users. In her post, Rosita disclosed that she is currently employed as a migrant worker in Dubai, whilst her husband works in Bahrain, one of the countries reportedly targeted by Iranian missiles.

The footage recorded by Rosita depicts a frightening scene accompanied by loud, booming sounds. Rosita’s husband can be heard sounding panicked and expressing concern for his safety. He mentions that the missiles were clearly visible passing over the area where he was located.
