Saudi Hajj authorities have imposed a ban on stoning the Jamarat between 10:00 and 14:00 Saudi Arabia time to ensure the safety and comfort of Indonesian pilgrims. This precautionary measure was taken due to the scorching weather and high crowd density at the Jamarat area during this period.

“All pilgrims must comply with the regulations, which state that from 10:00 to 14:00 they must not leave their tents,” said Ian Heryawan, Director General of Hajj Services at the Saudi Ministry of Hajj, in Makkah on Thursday.

Ian explained that the policy follows instructions from the Saudi Ministry of Hajj, which is concerned about the safety and comfort of all Hajj pilgrims, particularly those from Indonesia. The Indonesian Hajj Service Committee (PPIH) has instructed all on-ground personnel to monitor and enforce the rule effectively. Indonesian Hajj pilgrims are required to remain in their tents and follow the approved crowd movement plan. “Compliance will be closely monitored and evaluated,” Ian added.

Surveillance will be conducted directly by the Hajj Mission and service providers to ensure maximum protection for pilgrims. On 10 Dhu al-Hijjah, millions of Hajj pilgrims performed the stoning of Jamarat al-Aqabah, followed by stoning on the Days of Tashriq (11-13 Dhu al-Hijjah). In addition to adhering to the safe hours, the PPIH has urged Indonesian Hajj pilgrims to implement safety strategies in the Jamarat area. Pilgrims are advised not to force their way through crowds of other nationalities, maintain stamina to avoid fatigue, and always follow the movement flow to prevent collisions in the crowds.
