The Indonesian Embassy (KBRI) in Warsaw strengthened economic diplomacy through the organisation of the Indonesia–Poland Tourism Business Forum 2026. The forum, held on 9 March 2026 in Warsaw, recorded potential transaction value of US$7.58 million.

The forum resulted in 693 business matches between Indonesian and Polish tourism industry operators. The event brought together business practitioners to explore cooperation opportunities in tourism packages, destination promotion, and the development of the Polish tourism market to Indonesia.

Acting Chargé d’Affaires (KUAI) of KBRI Warsaw Agus Heryana stated that Indonesia–Poland tourism cooperation continues to hold strong prospects amid global dynamics. According to Agus, the business forum served as an important platform to expand the European tourism market to Indonesia.

“This forum demonstrates that despite the challenging global situation, Indonesia–Poland tourism cooperation maintains very strong prospects,” Agus said.

The forum represents the fourth edition and is one of the principal platforms for bringing together tourism industry operators from both countries. KBRI Warsaw collaborated with the Indonesian Travel Agency Association (ASITA) to present 21 Indonesian tourism industry practitioners consisting of tour operators and hotel representatives from various destinations including Bali, Lombok, North Sumatra, and Bangka Belitung.

A total of 33 Polish tourism industry practitioners participated in the forum as buyers. They explored opportunities for tourism package cooperation and promotion of Indonesian destinations in the Polish market.

The transaction value recorded at this year’s forum increased by 79 per cent compared to the 2025 achievement of US$4.23 million. This increase indicates growing interest from the Polish market in Indonesian tourism destinations.

Previously, the forum received a higher number of participant registrations. However, the geopolitical situation in the Middle East affected the mobility of some international participants.

In recent years, KBRI Warsaw has actively promoted Indonesian tourism in the Polish market through various economic diplomacy initiatives. These efforts were conducted through business matching facilitation, cooperation with international airlines, and destination promotion through various public channels.

Promotion was also carried out through the display of Indonesian tourism materials on digital screens in public transportation, collaboration with local media and business and arts communities, and participation in international tourism exhibitions in Poland.

Additionally, promotion of Indonesian culture was strengthened through the inauguration of Bali Indah Park in Dolina Charlotty, Slupsk, which became one of the iconic symbols of Indonesian cultural promotion in Poland.

These promotion efforts contributed to increased numbers of Polish tourists visiting Indonesia. In 2025, 68,100 Polish tourists visited Indonesia, an increase from 41,988 in 2023 and 53,907 in 2024.

This figure increased by 62.2 per cent compared to 2023 and represented the highest record of Polish tourist visits to Indonesia since 2017. The achievement also placed Poland as the eighth-ranked European country contributing tourists to Indonesia and among the top six European countries with the fastest tourist growth rates.

In addition to business forums and tourism exhibitions, KBRI Warsaw also conducted familiarisation trip programmes in cooperation with airlines and tourism industry partners. This programme aimed to directly introduce various featured Indonesian destinations to Polish tourism industry operators.

Going forward, KBRI Warsaw will continue to strengthen promotion of Indonesian tourism in Poland to expand the European tourism market and support the tourism sector’s contribution to the national economy.
