Indonesian Citizens in Jeddah Urged to Postpone Travel to Countries Affected by Iran-Israel Conflict
The Indonesian General Consulate (KJRI) in Jeddah has appealed to Indonesian citizens (WNI) to postpone non-urgent travel arrangements. This follows the escalating tensions in the Middle East after the United States and Israel launched attacks on Iran.
“If you are planning to travel, ensure you check flight schedules and status through the airline or airport authorities before departure, and postpone non-urgent travel to high-risk areas,” the KJRI Jeddah stated through its official social media account.
“Immediately register through the Peduli WNI portal and keep important documents in both physical and digital formats,” it added.
The consulate has urged citizens to continue monitoring the current situation in the Middle East. All Indonesian nationals have been asked to remain vigilant.
“Prioritise the safety of yourself and your family in all activities. Remain calm and avoid high-risk locations. Monitor information only from official KJRI Jeddah channels and Saudi Arabian authorities. Contact the KJRI Jeddah emergency hotline via WhatsApp: +966 50 596 6623 or telephone: +966 50 360 9667,” the statement read.
The United States and Israel launched a combined military assault on Iranian territory on Saturday morning Iran time. The attack was claimed to eliminate threats posed by the Iranian regime.
Separate video statements were released by Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and US President Donald Trump, which also signalled support for efforts to change the government in Tehran.
Iran condemned the attacks as a violation of sovereignty. The Iranian military pledged to retaliate and launch counter-strikes. Iran subsequently launched retaliatory attacks targeting several US military bases across the Middle East region.
A series of explosions rocked several Arab Gulf nations that host American military bases on Saturday local time. These included Bahrain, the United Arab Emirates, Qatar, and Kuwait, which all reported multiple explosions following the US and Israeli strikes on Iran.
