Qatar became one of the regions targeted in Iranian retaliatory strikes following attacks by Israel and the United States on Iran. One Indonesian citizen (WNI) in Qatar recounted the harrowing moments when Iranian missiles struck Doha.

Muhammad Hamdani, an Indonesian citizen residing in the city of Alkhor, described how the Iranian missile strikes began entering Qatari territory on Saturday (28 February) at midday.

“The situation in Alkhor remains safe for now,” Hamdani said when contacted on Saturday evening (28 February 2026).

Hamdani recounted that around 11:20 Qatar time, he heard loud explosive sounds. The blasts originated from the direction of Doha.

“When it happened, around 11:20 Qatar time, we heard five explosive blasts coming from the direction of Doha,” he said.

He and many residents in Alkhor panicked and rushed out of buildings. He even ran in the direction from which the explosions originated.

In addition to the continuous sound of explosions, Hamdani said his mobile phone was constantly ringing. He and other residents received emergency messages from the Qatari government.

“And at that time, emergency messages kept coming through on our phones from the Qatari government, indicating that the situation was in an emergency state,” Hamdani explained.

Hamdani remains at his home in Qatar. He is following directives from the Indonesian Embassy in Doha instructing Indonesian citizens to remain vigilant and postpone outdoor activities.

The United States and Israel attacked Iran on Saturday (28 February) morning Iran time. Iran responded to the strikes by attacking several US military bases in the Middle East.
