Jakarta (ANTARA) - The Indonesian Army (TNI AD) is ensuring that Papua residents receive habitable homes through the TNI Manunggal Membangun Desa (TMMD) programme. To guarantee this, Commander of Kodim 1801/Manokwari, Lieutenant Colonel Inf David Sutrisno Sirait, directly monitored the house construction process for residents in Kampung Tanah Rubah, North Manokwari District, on Tuesday. In the press release, it was stated that David personally inspected all aspects of the house under construction, from the interior to the exterior. He stated that the entire structure was built by the TMMD task force, assisted by local residents. After reviewing the construction process, David assessed that all completed parts of the building were in good condition. He asked his soldiers to accelerate the work so that the house could soon be occupied by the residents. “It is hoped that all Satgas personnel will work with full responsibility so that the construction is on target and the quality is maintained,” said David, who is also the TMMD Task Force Commander for the 128th iteration. Meanwhile, Commander of the TMMD SSK for Kodim Manokwari, Captain Inf Pius Huik, said that the presence of the Task Force Commander among the community also provides special motivation for the residents of Kampung Tanah Rubah. “The community feels cared for because the construction of their homes receives direct supervision from the TMMD Task Force leadership,” he stated. Pius hopes that the presence of TNI AD in the TMMD programme can strengthen solidarity between soldiers and the community. Thus, the presence of TNI AD can be easily accepted by the community. “Through TMMD 128, Kodim 1801/Manokwari continues to strengthen the unity of TNI and the people by prioritising the spirit of mutual cooperation, social care, and efforts to sustainably improve the quality of life for Papua’s community,” he concluded.
