The Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of the Republic of Indonesia to the Kingdom of the Netherlands, L. Amrih Jinangkung, officially presented his Letter of Credence to King Willem-Alexander at Noordeinde Palace, The Hague, on Wednesday (25/2). The presentation of credentials marks the official recognition by the Head of State of the Kingdom of the Netherlands of the Ambassador’s mandate as the representative of the Government of the Republic of Indonesia.

The ceremony took place solemnly in accordance with the state ceremony protocol of the Kingdom of the Netherlands. The Ambassador arrived at the palace in a state carriage escorted by the Royal Netherlands Marechaussee Mounted Brigade. The ceremony began with an official welcome on the palace grounds, followed by the playing of the Indonesian national anthem, Indonesia Raya, and an inspection of the guard of honour.

After the welcome ceremony, the Ambassador entered the credentials room to present the Letter of Credence directly to King Willem-Alexander. This moment symbolised the official commencement of L. Amrih Jinangkung’s diplomatic duties in the Netherlands.

In a meeting following the ceremony, the Ambassador conveyed warm greetings from the President of the Republic of Indonesia, as well as a commitment to continue strengthening bilateral relations between the two countries. The discussion was warm and reflected the increasingly mature relationship between Indonesia and the Netherlands.

“The presentation of the Letter of Credence marks the official commencement of my assignment to promote a more concrete and impactful partnership. Indonesia is ready to strengthen sustainable economic collaboration, innovation, and other strategic cooperation with the Netherlands,” said Ambassador L. Amrih Jinangkung. A strong, equal, mutually respectful, and mutually beneficial bilateral relationship has been outlined in the declaration of a Comprehensive Partnership. The two countries have also agreed on a Plan of Action as a guide for the implementation of the Comprehensive Partnership declaration.

The Netherlands is one of Indonesia’s main partners in Europe. In the future, the Indonesian Embassy in The Hague will follow up on this momentum through various agendas, ranging from high-level meetings to strengthening cooperation in the fields of economy, development, education, culture, and consular affairs. These efforts are aimed at providing tangible benefits for the national interests and the people of both countries.
