Indonesian Air Force Responds to Tramadol Transaction Near Pondok Gede Headquarters
JAKARTA — The Indonesian Air Force (TNI AU) has responded to social media posts linking the military institution to hard drug transactions. Air Force Public Affairs Director (Kadispenau) Marshal I Nyoman Suadnyana clarified the context surrounding the alleged unauthorised hard drug transaction in the vicinity of the Air Force headquarters.
“In response to allegations of illegal tramadol sales via cash on delivery (COD) methods across the street from the Reconstruction Unit (Satrekon) headquarters, we hereby issue a clarification,” stated Wayan when confirmed by Republika in Jakarta on Monday 16 March 2026.
According to him, the TNI AU, both as an institution and in terms of personnel, has no connection whatsoever with the alleged unauthorised hard drug transaction activity. This is particularly the case at the location mentioned in the video in Pondok Gede, East Jakarta.
“In the circulating post, an Air Force service motorcycle appears turning towards a location near the scene. The presence of this official vehicle is not related to the alleged transaction activity; rather, the personnel in question was heading to a drinks vendor near the location to purchase beverages,” said Wayan.
He explained that the video uploaded by the account owner essentially highlighted allegations of tramadol transactions occurring near the Satrekon headquarters. However, according to Wayan, the development of various comments and perceptions on social media linking the presence of the TNI AU service motorcycle to this activity does not reflect the actual facts.
“Moreover, the location mentioned is outside the area of the unit in question. The TNI AU does not tolerate any form of legal violation, including unauthorised hard drug trafficking,” stated Wayan.
