Indonesia to train 20,000 graduates in national skills program
Manpower Minister Yassierli announced Friday in Jakarta that eligible participants are those who completed high school or vocational school within the past three years.
He emphasized the program as a complementary pathway to the National Internship initiative for university graduates.
Registration has opened for 37 training fields across 33 locations, offering 830 classes through online, offline, and blended learning formats led by certified mentors.
Participants will receive training modules and a competency certificate from the National Professional Certification Agency (BNSP).
To support access, the government will provide lunch, daily transport allowances of Rp20,000 (US$1.19), as well as work accident insurance and death benefits. Training centers under the ministry will also help connect graduates with industry opportunities.
Yassierli expressed hope that the program would attract strong public interest and ensure participants are matched to fields aligned with their backgrounds, increasing their chances of employment.
