Indonesia Simplifies Foreign Worker Permits, Process to be Completed within 5 Days

The government is simplifying the licensing process for foreign workers (TKA) by integrating cross-ministerial and agency services through the Online Single Submission (OSS) system.

The Minister of Investment and Downstreaming/Head of BKPM, Rosan Roeslani, stated that this integration will allow the foreign worker permit process to be completed within five days, effective by the end of September.

“Collaboration must be fast, effective, and remain in accordance with applicable regulations, thereby providing a positive impact on the economy, job creation, and public welfare,” said Rosan during the signing of a Joint Decree (SKB) with the Ministry of Manpower and the Ministry of Immigration and Correctional Services in Jakarta on Wednesday (9/9/2026).

Furthermore, this decision integrates data within the OSS system managed by the Ministry of Investment and Downstreaming/BKPM with two other ministerial platforms: the Information and Service Application (SIAPKerja) owned by the Ministry of Manpower, and ‘All Indonesia’ owned by the Ministry of Immigration and Correctional Services.

As a result, foreign worker permits can be accessed via a single entry point through the OSS under the Ministry of Investment and Downstreaming.

This step is intended to provide effective public services while ensuring that the use of foreign workers aligns with the specific competency requirements of the workforce.

Meanwhile, the Minister of Immigration and Correctional Services, Agus Andrianto, noted that the cooperation between his ministry, the Ministry of Manpower, and the Ministry of Investment and Downstreaming/BKPM is fundamentally interconnected and has been established for a long time, particularly regarding services for foreign workers and foreign investors entering Indonesia.
