Indonesia Secures Rp575 Trillion in Investments from Japan and South Korea
President Prabowo Subianto’s official visit to Japan and South Korea has resulted in significant business cooperation commitments. Cabinet Secretary Teddy Indra Wijaya stated that the total value of business agreements from both countries reaches USD 33.89 billion, equivalent to Rp575 trillion. “From Japan, the business commitments are recorded at USD 23.63 billion or equivalent to Rp401.7 trillion, while from the Republic of Korea, it reaches USD 10.26 billion or equivalent to Rp174 trillion,” he said in a written statement on Thursday (2/4/2026). According to him, this achievement reflects the high confidence of global investors in Indonesia’s economic policies, especially in developing industrial downstreaming, energy resilience, and national strategic sectors. He added that the President’s direct involvement in dialogues with business actors was a key factor in achieving these agreements. “The President was not only present symbolically but actively listened to and responded to various inputs from the business world,” he said. The government, he continued, will oversee the realisation of all these commitments to provide tangible impacts on national economic growth, job creation, and improving societal welfare.
