Indonesia Prepares Tripartite Delegation for 114th ILC in Geneva
Indonesia’s tripartite delegation participation in the 114th ILC carries strategic significance extending far beyond merely fulfilling an international invitation.
The government, through the Ministry of Manpower (Kemnaker), is preparing the Indonesian Tripartite Delegation ahead of the 114th International Labour Conference (ILC) to be held in Geneva, Switzerland, in early June 2026.
Director General of Industrial Relations and Social Security at Kemnaker, Indah Anggoro Putri, said the preparations provide a strategic platform to unify the delegation’s perspectives so Indonesia can have a strong and coordinated position in discussing global labour agendas.
“This is because the presence of Indonesia’s Tripartite Delegation at the 114th ILC has a much broader strategic significance than just fulfilling an international invitation,” Putri stated in Jakarta on Thursday.
The preparations held earlier this week in Jakarta were attended by government representatives, trade unions, and employers as part of the Indonesian tripartite delegation participating in the international labour forum organised by the International Labour Organization (ILO).
Putri further highlighted four main urgencies for Indonesia’s tripartite delegation: as an instrument for protecting national interests, a diplomatic tool to influence global labour standards, a platform to maintain stability in industrial and socio-economic relations, and an opportunity to address workplace transformation due to digitalisation and artificial intelligence (AI).
“Active Indonesian participation in shaping global standards will determine the nation’s readiness to enhance labour competitiveness and national economic strength in the future,” she said.
The Indonesian delegation will be led by Minister of Manpower Yassierli, comprising representatives from government, trade unions, and employers to safeguard Indonesia’s labour interests on the global stage.
Putri noted that the solid tripartite presence underscores Indonesia’s commitment to promoting inclusive social dialogue and formulating fair and adaptive international labour policies in line with evolving times.
The priority agendas for this year’s ILC are divided into standing and technical items.
Standing agendas include Reports of the Chairperson of the Governing Body and Director-General, Information on the Programme and Budget and Other Questions (CF), Information and Reports on the Applications of Conventions and Recommendations, and Committee on the Application of Standards (CAN).
Regarding the CAN agenda, Indonesia is positively not listed among countries under evaluation or review, indicating that the country’s labour compliance is deemed good with no international convention violation issues.
Meanwhile, technical agendas include Standard Setting: Platform Economy (Second Discussion), General Discussion: Gender Equality, and Recurrent Discussion: Social Dialogue and Tripartism.
