Indonesia deports 13 Chinese nationals over paid photo shoot violation
“We have taken an administrative measure by deporting the 13 foreigners from China in accordance with applicable regulations,” office head Winarko stated in Jakarta on Saturday.
He noted that the deportation followed an immigration monitoring operation against an event titled “Celebrity Portrait Event by Luxuravision.id” at the restaurant on January 26. The event, held from January 21–28, reportedly charged visitors for each photo session.
According to Winarko, his team managed to identify several foreign nationals involved in organizing the photo shoot in various roles, including photographer, makeup artist, fashion stylist, and committee member.
“All measures during the monitoring were taken in a persuasive and humane manner and aligned with applicable procedures,” he added.
He explained that the 13 Chinese citizens were then summoned to the South Jakarta Immigration Office for clarification and further administrative inspections, which concluded they had misused their stay permits in Indonesia.
Citing the violation, Winarko stated that the foreigners were deported on February 12 to enforce Indonesia’s immigration regulations. He described the move as reflecting commitment to professional, proportional, and fair immigration services.
He urged the public to report any foreigners suspected of violating immigration rules.
He added that the South Jakarta Immigration Office remains committed to effective monitoring of foreign nationals to ensure compliance with national immigration rules in the capital.
