Indonesia condemns Israeli interception of Gaza-bound flotilla
The journalists were identified as Bambang Noroyono and Thoudy Badai from Republika, and Andre Prasetyo Nugroho of Tempo.
“We are deeply concerned about reports involving Indonesian journalists currently covering the humanitarian mission to Gaza,” Meutya said in a statement received on Tuesday.
According to Indonesia’s Foreign Ministry, at least 10 vessels participating in the mission were intercepted by Israeli authorities.
The vessels carrying the journalists have remained unreachable, while the condition of those on board has yet to be confirmed.
Meutya said her ministry would continue coordinating with the Foreign Ministry and other parties to monitor developments and support protection efforts for Indonesians involved in the mission.
The Foreign Ministry has also coordinated with Indonesian embassies in Ankara, Cairo, and Amman to prepare protection and repatriation measures if necessary.
The GSF describes itself as an international humanitarian movement supporting aid access to Gaza.
