Indonesia and Saudi Arabia Seal USD 27 Billion in Business Deals During Prabowo's Visit
Citing Global Liputan6.com, President Prabowo's visit to Saudi Arabia, which took place from 1 to 3 July 2025, saw Indonesia record a number of significant achievements at both diplomatic and economic levels. One of the most notable outcomes was the conclusion of business agreements worth USD 27 billion, or approximately Rp437 trillion, between Indonesian and Saudi Arabian business actors.
Citing an official statement from the Indonesian Ministry of Foreign Affairs on Thursday, 3 July 2025, President Prabowo arrived in Jeddah on the evening of 1 July and was officially received by the Saudi Arabian Minister of Trade, the Deputy Governor of Makkah, and the Mayor of Jeddah.
The following day, Prabowo met directly with Crown Prince and Prime Minister of Saudi Arabia Mohammed bin Salman (MBS) at the As Salam Palace in Jeddah. The meeting also marked the official inauguration of the first session of the Indonesia–Saudi Arabia Supreme Coordination Council (DKT), a high-level bilateral forum led directly by both heads of government.
The DKT serves as the primary platform for aligning the strategic interests of the two nations. Both leaders also discussed geopolitical developments in the Middle East, including the issues of Palestine and Iran.
As an initial step in the DKT's work, a governance framework for the council was agreed upon, which will serve as its official operational structure. The document was signed directly by President Prabowo and Crown Prince MBS, with implementation to be coordinated by the foreign ministers of both countries.
