Indonesia and Russia Strengthen Higher Education Partnership Through BMSTU Collaboration
In an official statement in Jakarta on Saturday, Indonesian Minister Brian Yuliarto expressed his appreciation for the Russian government’s contribution in providing scholarships, which are planned to be integrated into the Garuda Scholarship program.
He stated that Indonesia can develop various joint programs, such as joint research with Indonesian universities addressing eight national priorities, as well as student and professor exchanges.
“We hope to begin concrete joint research programs soon, including professor exchanges, academic visits, and collaborative mentoring for doctoral programs,” Yuliarto said.
Meanwhile, BMSTU Rector Mikhail Gordin stated that his delegation was here to explore opportunities for collaboration and international student recruitment.
The additional quota, Gordin explained, is focused on two-year master’s programs and doctoral programs, which require about two years of intensive lab research under professors and engineers.
He described BMSTU as one of Russia’s leading technical universities, offering excellence in robotics, quantum computing, space technology, intelligent manufacturing, and green technology.
“We also have an additional quota allocated specifically for our university. This quota will be used primarily for master’s and postdoctoral programs,” Gordin said.
