Indikator Survey: 85.3 Percent of Eid Travellers Satisfied with 2026 Ketupat Operation
Indikator Politik Indonesia’s survey indicates that 85.3 percent of the public who travelled home for Eid 2026 are satisfied with the implementation of the 2026 Ketupat Operation by the Police. Director of Indikator Politik Indonesia, Burhanuddin Muhtadi, outlined two categories for assessing public satisfaction with the 2025 Eid homecoming arrangements—wait, no, the 2026 arrangements. The first category involves the general public who did not travel home, while the second targets those who did.
“The majority of the public in general, 80.8 percent, are satisfied with this year’s Eid homecoming arrangements. Among travellers, the satisfaction rate is even higher at 85.3 percent,” he stated during a press conference on Tuesday (7/4/2026).
Burhanuddin noted that satisfaction levels across all respondent groups have not declined compared to the previous year.
The survey found that 81.4 percent of the general public agreed that this year’s Ketupat Operation was better at ensuring smooth traffic flow. Among travellers, this figure rose to 82.7 percent.
Additionally, 79.8 percent of the public agreed that this year’s arrangements were more effective in reducing road accident rates compared to last year.
“The majority, both among all respondents and the group that travelled home, agree that this year’s Eid Ketupat Operation was better at creating smooth traffic flow and more effective in reducing road accidents compared to the previous year,” said Burhanuddin.
Burhanuddin added that the majority of travellers were also satisfied with the facilities and services during the homecoming and return flow for Eid 2026.
“Travellers were most satisfied with the provision of posts by the National Police for security, information centres, and rest areas for the public during the homecoming and return flow, at 84 percent,” he explained.
Furthermore, 77.6 percent of travellers were satisfied with traffic engineering services such as contraflow and one-way systems on toll roads, and 76.1 percent for arterial roads.
The survey was conducted from 29 March to 4 April 2026, with 1,200 respondents. It used simple random sampling, with a margin of error of approximately 2.9 percent at a 95 percent confidence level.
Respondents were interviewed face-to-face. Quality control of the interview results was performed randomly on 20 percent of the total sample by supervisors who revisited selected respondents.
