Jakarta (ANTARA) - The majority of mudik travellers expressed satisfaction with the facilities and services during the 2026 Lebaran outbound and return flows, with the highest satisfaction rate for the security posts provided by Polri.

The Indikator Politik Indonesia survey recorded that Polri’s posts achieved an 84 per cent satisfaction rate, covering security functions, information centres, and rest areas for travellers.

“The majority of mudik travellers feel satisfied with the facilities and services during this year’s Lebaran mudik/return flows; travellers are most satisfied with the provision of Polri posts for security, as information centres, and also providing rest services for the community during the mudik/return flows,” said Chief Researcher of Indikator Politik Indonesia Rizka Halida during an online press conference in Jakarta on Tuesday.

In addition to Polri posts, fuel availability also received positive ratings with an 81.7 per cent satisfaction rate, followed by public transport services at 79.7 per cent.

Meanwhile, traffic engineering on toll roads, such as the one-way system and contraflow, was rated satisfactory by 77.6 per cent of respondents, as well as traffic management on non-toll roads at 76.1 per cent.

On the other hand, road conditions were the aspect with the lowest satisfaction rate, at 74.4 per cent, although still in the majority satisfied category.

“Overall, mudik travellers tend to be satisfied with mudik services, although road conditions still need improvement,” said Rizka.

These findings align with the overall public satisfaction rate for mudik organisation, which reached 80.8 per cent, and the assessment by around 81 per cent of respondents that this year’s mudik flow management was better than the previous year.

The survey was conducted from 29 March to 4 April 2026 on 1,200 respondents using multi-stage random sampling, with a margin of error of ±2.9 per cent at a 95 per cent confidence level.

Interviews were conducted face-to-face by trained interviewers, with quality control on 20 per cent of the sample to ensure data validity.

These results show that the mudik flow management efforts by various agencies, including Polri and the Ministry of Transportation, have received public appreciation, although road infrastructure improvements remain a primary task ahead.
