Jakarta (ANTARA) - A survey by Indikator Politik Indonesia records that 85.3 percent of the public who travelled for Eid in 2026 were satisfied with the implementation of Operation Ketupat 2026 conducted by the Indonesian National Police.

Founder and chief researcher of Indikator Politik Indonesia, Burhanuddin Muhtadi, stated in Jakarta on Tuesday that his organisation divided the assessment of public satisfaction with the Eid travel arrangements into two categories.

The first category involved a survey of the public who did not travel. The second category targeted those who did travel in 2026.

“The majority of the public in general, 80.8 percent, are satisfied with this year’s Eid travel arrangements. Among travellers, the satisfaction rate is even higher at 85.3 percent,” he said.

Burhanuddin noted that satisfaction levels across all respondent groups for the Eid travel arrangements did not decline compared to 2025.

In the survey, he mentioned that 81.4 percent of the general public agreed that Operation Ketupat 2026 was better at ensuring smooth traffic flow. Among travellers, the agreement was higher at 82.7 percent.

Additionally, he said, 79.8 percent of the public agreed that the 2026 Eid arrangements were better at reducing traffic accident rates compared to 2025.

“The majority agree, both among all respondents and the group that travelled, that this year’s Operation Ketupat for Eid was better at ensuring smooth traffic flow and reducing traffic accidents compared to last year,” he stated.

Burhanuddin said the majority of travellers were also satisfied with the facilities and services during the Eid outbound and return flows in 2026.

“Travellers were most satisfied with the provision of police posts for security, information centres, and rest areas for the public during the Eid flows, at 84 percent,” he explained.

Additionally, 77.6 percent of travellers were satisfied with traffic engineering services such as contraflow and one-way systems on toll roads, and 76.1 percent for arterial roads.

The survey was conducted from 29 March to 4 April 2026, with a total of 1,200 respondents. It used simple random sampling with a margin of error of approximately 2.9 percent at a 95 percent confidence level.

Respondents were interviewed face-to-face. Quality control of the interview results was conducted randomly on 20 percent of the total sample by supervisors who revisited selected respondents.
