The 6th MUKISI International Islamic Healthcare & Expo (IHEX) 2026 was held at the Ballroom of Novotel Tangerang on Wednesday (6/5/2026). The event was organised to strengthen inclusive Sharia-based healthcare services that can be applied to various types of hospitals, both public and private. Deputy Minister of Health Dante Saksono Harbuwono stated that a religious approach in healthcare services aligns with Indonesia’s foundational values as enshrined in Pancasila, particularly the first principle of Belief in the One and Only God. “Every aspect of national life, including healthcare services, must not be separated from religious values. Therefore, we welcome the Sharia hospital certification efforts undertaken by MUKISI together with MUI,” he said in a written statement. He emphasised that Sharia hospital certification is not an exclusive concept solely for Islamic-based hospitals but is open to all. The halalan thoyyiban principle in healthcare services is deemed capable of improving the overall quality of services. In addition, the Ministry of Health continues to promote the strengthening of the halal ecosystem, including through pharmaceutical product certification. Currently, around 24,000 pharmaceutical products have been certified halal, and this number will continue to increase. “With this certification, the public receives assurance of healthcare services that are not only of quality but also in accordance with religious values,” he said.
