Inaugurated as BPJS Kesehatan Director, Prihati Pujowaskito: This Is a Great Mandate
Jakarta, VIVA – Prihati Pujowaskito has been inaugurated as President Director of BPJS Kesehatan for the 2026-2031 term. Prihati expressed gratitude for receiving the significant mandate to lead the national health insurance agency.
“I feel I have received a great mandate,” Prihati told reporters at the Office of the Coordinating Ministry for Community Empowerment on Friday, 20 February 2026.
Prihati conveyed her thanks to President Prabowo Subianto for appointing her as President Director of BPJS Kesehatan.
“We extend our gratitude to the President for issuing the assignment directive, and naturally to the previous board of directors and supervisory board who laid a solid foundation for this programme. We shall continue what has been done well,” she said.
On the occasion, Prihati affirmed that she would carry out her new role and duties as President Director of BPJS Kesehatan to the best of her ability, in pursuit of optimal service for the public.
“We are ready to execute this duty with full responsibility and are prepared to work hard for services that are accessible, swift and accurate,” Prihati concluded.
Coordinating Minister for Community Empowerment Muhaimin Iskandar, commonly known as Cak Imin, inaugurated the new Supervisory Board and Board of Directors of both BPJS Kesehatan and BPJS Ketenagakerjaan for the 2026-2031 term.
The inauguration was based on Presidential Decrees No. 17/P of 2026 and No. 18/P of 2026 concerning the dismissal and appointment of Supervisory Board and Board of Directors members for both institutions.
The position of President Director of BPJS Kesehatan for the 2026-2031 term has been entrusted to Prihati Pujowaskito, whilst Saiful Hidayat has been appointed President Director of BPJS Ketenagakerjaan.
Cak Imin expressed gratitude and optimism regarding the leadership transition at BPJS, which serves as the spearhead of the national social security system.
According to him, in line with the spirit of Presidential Instruction 8/2025, social security is a crucial instrument for improving public welfare.
“As part of the duties of the Coordinating Ministry for Community Empowerment, my team and I are tasked with ensuring that the state empowers the people to live productive and dignified lives,” said Cak Imin at the Coordinating Ministry office in Central Jakarta on Friday, 20 February 2026.
“Productive means being able to move beyond social assistance towards sustainable self-reliance — and this is the essence of community empowerment,” he added.
