INACA Pushes for Aviation Industry Transformation
The national aviation industry is deemed in need of a thorough overhaul to boost competitiveness amid global pressures. Transformation must extend beyond environmental aspects to encompass the entire aviation value chain. INACA Chairman Denon Prawiraatmadja stated that this agenda will be the focus of the Indonesia Aero Summit (IAS) 2026, scheduled for 8–9 July in Jakarta. “Through an ecosystem approach, all stakeholders—government, airport operators, airlines, manufacturing industries, energy providers, research institutions, and educational bodies—are encouraged to collaborate in creating innovative solutions,” said Denon on Wednesday (29/4/2026). He explained that the transformation includes developing sustainable aviation fuel (SAF), carbon trading, modernising airport infrastructure, and improving air traffic management efficiency. Utilising digital technology is also a key factor in enhancing operational performance. “Sustainable aviation must be able to enhance national connectivity, drive regional economic growth, and continue to consider the welfare of the workforce and surrounding communities,” Denon added. INACA believes an ecosystem-based approach is necessary to maintain a balance between industry growth and socio-economic impacts. These efforts are expected to strengthen the aviation sector’s contribution to national economic growth. Denon conveyed that IAS 2026 adopts the theme Sustainable Aviation Ecosystem, emphasising the integration of adaptive and sustainable aviation systems. The forum will involve regulators, operators, and global industry players. Through this forum, INACA targets the emergence of strategic recommendations to bolster the competitiveness of Indonesia’s aviation industry on the international stage while supporting national economic growth targets.
